Love is for life not just Valentine’s Day

What is Love? Well first off it’s that catchy tune by Haddaway that you danced the night away to in the early 90’s...but that’s not romantic. Love is definitely romance in life, like that cute nude couple in the cartoons.

Every day there should be a Romeo & Juliet moment. When your love just turns around, looks at you and smiles and you think I was so lucky to find you (and vice versa)... sorry am I getting a bit yucky now. Well it’s Valentine’s day today and all those lovey-dovey thoughts and feelings are allowed to flow out and make us all soft and gooey.

Some say Valentine’s day is just a ploy to get us to part with our money. Well that as maybe but there’s no reason not to enjoy the ride.

I will be making dinner on the night. No I won’t be slaving over the stove...well not for long anyway. A special dessert will be made the day before (well I like baking, British Bake Off, Mary Berry, Paul Hollywood and all that jazz). The table will be set beautifully. Prosecco in the fridge. Chocolates for afters.

When dinner is cooked I will put on my evening dress and my husband will put on his best rags too. Hey I do the same for our Wedding anniversary every year but instead I put on my wedding dress (yes it still fits).

We may be a little tipsy by the end of the night after dinner, drink and chocolates plus a romantic film but it’s all in the name of love and spending time in each others company after all these years. That’s the way I like it...love it.

So when Valentine’s day is over, love is certainly not. Whether it’s an action packed couples sky diving jump or just simply holding hands in the park, love is here to stay forever and ever.
